The Ekadashi is celebrated every year on the eleventh day of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. It falls in the 15 day period of Pitra Paksh. It is believed that Tulsi Plant is an manifestation of Maa Laxmi in this world. Therefore, the leaves of Holy Basil Plant are the favorite of Krishna Ji and are offered to him.
